Children are naturally drawn to windows and balconies — the view, the outside air, the height itself all attract attention long before a child understands the danger. Because falls from height are entirely preventable, this is one of the highest-impact safety changes a family with young kids can make.
A well-fitted net across a balcony or window opening removes the risk without changing how the family actually uses the space day to day — you can still open windows for air, still use the balcony for its usual purpose, and still enjoy natural light and the view.
It's worth checking every opening a child could reach, not just the main balcony: side windows, utility balconies, and stairwell landings are all worth a second look if there are young children in the home.
